2016 Primaries Thoughts

Lately I’ve really been concerned. I feel too young to be concerned over the type of things I am, but this election year really has me thinking. I’m have no one to vote for. Not one candidate reflects my views. For those that do not know me personally, this article from the New York Times does a great job at summarizing my views.

Moreover, not only do I not feel aligned with any candidate, I am concerned many of the frontrunners represent dangerous concepts and ideas. My friends are uninformed and ignorant about some of the stances of the candidates they intent to vote for, yet they are incredibly passionate. Legitimately, some have always self-identified as single issue voters, but I’m just amazed at what I’m seeing this election cycle. Now to be fair, I don’t claim to be overtly political, I’m an independent and I also am not the most informed. Yet, I can’t help but feel a certain sense of impending doom around what I’m seeing. It just reminds me how broken and outdated our political system is. Okay, I’ll step off my soapbox and end my “get off my lawn” talk.

Have a great night, everyone!
